ANRANR enhances its nuclear regulatory skills
The delegation of the National Agency for the Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Activities (ANRANR) composed of the Acting Deputy Director Elena Mursa and the Head of the Monitoring, Analysis and Planning Service Elena Moraru, participated in the "Regional Training Course for Europe dedicated to the New Information System of the Regulatory Authority (RAIS+)". The event took place in Athens, Greece, between September 30 and October 4, 2024, organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), with the support of the Atomic Energy Commission of Greece.
The purpose of this course is to help IAEA Member States use RAIS+, a modern platform that supports the management of regulatory programs, in particular the Ionizing Radiation Sources (NIS) Database and NIS operators, according to international standards. Participants learned about installing software, migrating data, and customizing the processes needed to ensure efficient system operation. This knowledge will be vital for the successful implementation of RAIS+ by ANRANR in the Republic of Moldova.
"Ideally, RAIS+ should ensure the management of regulatory processes – the maintenance of data related to ionizing radiation sources, the management of information and regulatory activities. The purpose of the IAEA is to provide member states with a universal product for recording and controlling the IRS, in order to facilitate the exchange of information, data and movement of radioactive materials for the prevention and detection of their illicit trafficking. We are excited about the opportunity to participate in this course and learn from the experiences of other states. The implementation of RAIS+ will represent a significant step in advancing our regulatory capabilities and ensuring high safety standards. ", said Elena Mursa.
