ANRANR-IGSU bilateral meeting

On 14.01.2026, based on the approach of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the Ministry of the Environment, a bilateral meeting was organized within the National Agency for the Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Activities ANRANR - IGSU, on the subject of the implementation of the National Strategy on the management of radioactive waste for the years 2017-2026 (Implementation Plan approved by Law no. 68/2017) and the planning of a new cycle of measures, which would prevent a possible normative gap and cover the period "2027 +".
The meeting was chaired by the director of the Agency, Mr. Artur Hurmuzache and the representative of IGSU, Mr. Iulian Gîscă, Director of the State Institution with Special Destination "Special Objects no. 5101, 5102".
Thus, within of the meeting were discussed:
- Development of the national radioactive waste management program for the period 2027-2031;
- Correspondence of the provisions of the new Program with the requirements of GD no. 306/2025 (Cluster 4, Annex 1, point 58), which provide for the transposition of Directive 2011/70/EUROATOM;
- The stages of the development of the new framework legislative.

Joint activities in the development of the new National Radioactive Waste Management Program for the period 2027-2031 will lead to the creation of a coherent and successive national policy framework with a positive message for development partners and will contribute to the prevention and exclusion of possible dangers related to radioactive waste management.
